Centrifugal casting method is widely used in industry, especially for hollow castings (with a free surface). Centrifugal casting technology provides a number of advantages which are often unachievable due to other methods, for example: high wear resistance, high density metal, no air pockets, the absence of nonmetallic inclusions and slag. Typical products are rotary parts, namely bushings, worm and wheel rims, drums for paper machines, rotor motors. The greatest use of centrifugal casting is in the manufacture of copper alloy bushings, mainly tin bronze.
