The advantages of metal injection molding are in its ability to provide mechanical properties almost equivalent to forged materials as well as a form close to the finished. MIM parts have virtually no restrictions on the form. Limitations of MIM are in common sizes of parts. Most products usually do not exceed 250 g. Among typical applications of given parts can be computer peripherals, medical and dental devices, automobiles, firearms, electronics and consumer goods. The used materials are the same as in powder metallurgy, based on iron, stainless steel, tool steel, hard alloys, etc.
